The Sheriff's Office claim Scott had a gun pointed at them , and they where forced to shoot him in self defense. Lake County, Florida sheriffs Office assumed Scott was a simple battery suspect Jonathon Brown. After the shooting officers upgraded charges on Johnathon Brown and Anthony Rodriguez to attempted murder. Brown and Rodriguez had assaulted the son of a Lake County Sheriff's who was reported by The Right Side of the Lake "Justin James Jackson, the alleged attempted murder victim who got into an argument with his girlfriend after he reviewed an unattended cell phone. Later, it led to a phone confrontation with Anthony Rodriquez, who was called by Jackson during a heated argument with the girlfriend. Allegedly, at that time, Jackson struck the girlfriend in the face, which resulted in Rodriquez and Jonathan Brown going to Jackson’s residence to physically confront Jackson." Justin Jackson is the son of Lake County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Gregory “Scoop” Jackson. After receiving reports that Brown was spotted at the Blueberry Hills Apartment complex, officers arrived at 1:30 AM to find his motorcycle parked near Andrew Lee Scott's front door. The Sheriffs Office in Lake County, Florida assumed Scott was the suspect. After the shooting officers upgraded charges on Johnathon Brown and Anthony Rodriguez to attempted murder. Other reports have said the police did not announce themselves , did not use sirens ,or any indication that the police where there. The police went one step further in an attempt to both cover themselves and justify the shooting. Statements made by Th Sheriffs Office. The Lake County Sheriff has no policy requiring deputies to announce themselves, Herrell told Reuters. Lt. John Herrell : "When we knocked on the door, the door opened and the occupant of that apartment was pointing a gun at deputies and that's when we opened fire and killed him" "It's just a bizarre set of circumstances," he said. "The bottom line is, you point a gun at a deputy sheriff or police office, you're going to get shot," Herrell said. Justice Served...What happened to innocent till proven guilty?It seems unfair to incarcerate anyone without a conviction. This includes bail. I think the burden should be on the state if a suspect flees. Holding a person even for one day is wrong. Why should i have to pay in some cases up to millions of dollars just because i might be guilty of a crime?
Casey anthony has been in 23/7 confinement for almost 3 years awaiting trial. If she is found innocent she will have lost 3 years of her life. Article by: Joshua Hudgins 6/30/2011 Guilty by mental disease or defect? Pleading guilty to a crime is never easy. We need other options and sentencing guide lines for court cases. Sometimes a defendant knows he/she is guilty but wants the court to take into consideration that they have a mental disease or disturbance. Instead they should allow the jury to consider the culpability of the guilty party as it relates to his/her mental defect. And use different sentencing guidelines ones that includes parole and rehabilitation for offenders facing addictions or sex crimes. One plea does not fit all crimes or people. Taking more consideration into why a person did a crime and a little understanding may save the state in the long run.
Murdered by the police? Vincent "andy" Cecil was shot in cold blood. at 11:45 pm 10/4/2011 the police responded to a 911 call at 44000 block of jesse ave in Deland ,Fl. The police arrived and within 1 minute of arriving the lake county sherrifs office shot him 4 times killing him on the scene. Without any attempts to try to deescalate the situation. The police made false claims of him threating them with a knife. Later witnesses stated that he was calm and never made any aggressive movements towards the police. The police just open fired on him.
